As the only academic medical center in Central New York, SUNY UPSTATE is proud to be the region’s largest employer. The SUNY campus is home to Upstate University Hospital, Upstate University Hospital at Community General, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital as well as a number of satellite sites and is an affiliate of the State University of New York. While the medical center’s mission is to improve the health of surrounding communities through education, biomedical research, and health care, they are well known for their research in cancer, diabetes, heart disease, nervous system disorders, vision and infectious diseases.
