Syracuse, New York (July 7, 2008). Govsphere, Inc. today announced that it received a contract award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiencies within the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD). The contract will focus on identifying best business practices across CPD field offices, establishing benchmarks for assessing CPD performance, and facilitating a conference designed to gather input and suggestions from CPD field office staff. Govsphere has teamed with K Duncan & Company, a government accounting and financial management firm, to complete the scope of work.

During this engagement, Govsphere will analyze process inefficiencies within CPD operations, identify business process improvements, and formulate initiatives to streamline existing processes and standardize operations across CPD field offices. Specifically, the Govsphere team will focus on the Consolidated Plan, risk analyses of Entitlement and Competitive grantees, CPD monitoring practices, consolidated annual performance and evaluation report (CAPER) reviews, and CPD information technology (IT) systems. Govsphere staff will also interview representatives from each CPD program office and conduct conference calls with CPD Directors from numerous field offices.
